Self portrait- I made it mostly to enter into a contest, because I wanted to enter a colored pencil portrait but it had to be original (so no J-rockers XD)

I don't like the background, and there are some anatomical oddities, partially because I was rushing a bit . . . but we'll see what happens.

Colored pencil, 14x17 in paper. The usual.

Reference used for everything except the roses. Although I elaborated a bit anyways.

Looks good, but it also looks a little flat. Is that the portrait itself, or the camera/scanner?

hmm, I'm not sure- it definitely looks better in real life, but I do think the shadows could have been better/more intense in some areas.

*nods* Very few times could shadows not be more intense. Still, it's the proportions that are giving me problems, just because (as I said) it looks flat, not 3D like your other one.
